Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Contact Forge (the “Service”), a business-card scanning and contact-management application operated by 4 Byte Solutions(“we”, “us”, or “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use the Service. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials, and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use.

2. The Service

Contact Forge lets you capture business cards, extract their details using optical character recognition (OCR) and, optionally, AI parsing, and organise the resulting contacts. Features, limits, and plan entitlements are described on our Pricing page and may change over time.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service to store, process, or transmit unlawful, infringing, or harmful content;
  • upload personal data of third parties without a lawful basis or the consents required under applicable law;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems;
  • reverse-engineer, scrape, or resell the Service except as permitted by law;
  • use the Service to send spam or unsolicited communications.

4. Your data & content

You retain all rights to the contacts, images, and other data you submit (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited licence to host, process, and display Your Content solely to provide and improve the Service. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and process the contact information of third parties, including obtaining any notices or consents required under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable laws. Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Third-party services

The Service integrates with third-party providers — including Google (OAuth, Sheets, Contacts, and Vision OCR), Anthropic (AI parsing), Razorpay (payments), and a WhatsApp messaging provider (one-time passwords). Your use of those features may be subject to the respective provider’s terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

6. Subscriptions, billing & taxes

Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis through Razorpay. Prices are listed in Indian Rupees (INR) and are exclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. By subscribing, you authorise us and our payment processor to charge your selected payment method for each billing cycle until you cancel. Cancellations and refunds are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and trademarks, is owned by 4 Byte Solutions and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you no rights in our intellectual property except the limited right to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. OCR and AI extraction may contain errors; you are responsible for reviewing extracted data before relying on it. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, 4 Byte Solutions shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, or profits. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a manner that may cause harm. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases; provisions that by their nature should survive will survive.

11. Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to any applicable law, the courts at Jaipur shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the Service or by email. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
